Future climate change will likely alter the Chesapeake Bay in numerous ways, such as expanding hypoxic zones and creating more acidic waters. Determining how fishes will respond to the Bay of the future is critical not only for fisheries management but also for our understanding of estuarine ecology.


Seth Miller is a postdoctoral fellow at the Smithsonian Environmental Research Center in Edgewater. His work focuses on the behavior of estuarine and marine animals and how those behaviors change in response to stress.
