Carissa Schively Slotterback

Scientific Review Committee Member

Dr. Carissa S. Slotterback is Dean of the Graduate School of Public and International Affairs (GSPIA) at the University of Pittsburgh. She formerly served as Associate Dean of the Humphrey School of Public Affairs at the University of Minnesota. Carissa is widely recognized for her research and teaching on public engagement and decision making in environmental, land use, and transportation planning. She has led a number of initiatives focused on interdisciplinary and engaged research and education and has held a number of leadership roles with the Association of Collegiate Schools of Planning. Her primary research interests are in urban and regional planning, public engagement, environmental and sustainability planning, and land use and transportation issues. Carissa received her PhD in Urban and Regional Planning from Florida State University. Carissa served on SESYNC’s Scientific Review Committee.
